Making Your Stay Safe

The last few months have been a challenging time for everyone. We hope you have remained safe and well during this time. Its become increasingly apparant that all changes made prior to opening may have to be in place for the foreseeable future.

Prior to re-opening in July we took a lot of precautionary measures to ensure the safety or our guests and also our family – bearing in mind this is not just a B&B, its also our home.

In this page, we attempt to explain what we have done to make our premises ‘Covid Safe’ and also a reminder of the booking process. As always, if you have any queries regarding any aspect of your upcoming or potential stay here at Croxton House, please get in touch.

Making A Booking

We understand that you may be considering making a booking for a few days away. It will be lovely to see you Croxton House. However, we understand there is still uncertainty. In response to this we have amended our booking Terms and Conditions. If possible, we are asking guests to make bookings online.

For bookings, our online booking system will ask for your credit card details to secure the booking. No money will be taken by us prior to your arrival, but we do pre-authorise the card. This means that funds are held by your bank in order to guarantee your stay. If for any reason you need to alter your booking, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do all we can to assist. Our full terms and conditions are here.

As well as making a booking for specific date, we also offer gift vouchers. Gift vouchers can be purchased via our website and you will receive immediate confirmation. For added flexibility all gift vouchers are valid for two years. They can be purchased for varied amounts towards a stay at Croxton House.

Prior to your stay, we will need some additional information from you – prior to check in. The first is the completion of a Digital Registration card and also the completion of a Health Questionnaire. All are completed online. We do need these to be received no more than 24 hours prior to check in. If you do not have the facility to complete these online, please let us know and we will provide the forms on check in.

Staying At Croxton House

We are carefully monitoring all guidance from the government and Public Health England to ensure we take all possible steps to maintain a safe environment for everyone. Since we opened in 1995, we have received numerous reviews that complement the standard of cleanliness at Croxton House. We will continue to operate at this excellent standard.

In addition, we will put in place any additional measures as recommended. Hand sanitizer stations are positioned in the entrance hall, on the main landing outside all bedrooms and outside the private bathrooms – we would expect our guests to use these whenever they are near them. We will also supply anti bacterial wipes in all rooms and will actively encourage guests to use these to clean where they have used the facilities.

We are a member of the Visit Britain ‘We’re Good to Go’ scheme  – for more information click here. This is an industry standard for UK tourism and one of the benefits of this is the continuing monitoring of changes of regulations and advice – which we are kept up to date with.

The advice regarding laundry is to use high temperatures and detergents, which we will continue to use.

In addition to the high standards of cleaning that we have always carried out, we are disinfecting the surfaces that different guests may touch, such as door handles and bannisters, several times throughout the day. To assist us with this it will help if guests wash or sanitise their hands when entering Croxton House, before leaving their room and bathrooms. In addition to the usual high standards of cleaning, we have included an additional step of using an antiviral cleaner as a last step.

We have decided not to remove all tea and coffee making facilities in Croxton House. On room changeover, all kettles and trays are thoroughly cleaned and all sachets are removed and replaced.

We will also be removing any unnecessary soft furnishings in the rooms i.e. cushions, rugs. We will leave the comfy chair in each room so that you can enjoy your stay in comfort.

Breakfast at Croxton House

In order to minimise risks to our guests we have decided to only offer a light breakfast for the foreseeable future. We understand this may be a disappointment to our guests, but this decision wasn’t taken lightly. Keith’s Legendary Full English will back another day! We just don’t know when.

The breakfast room at Croxton House has a large dining table seating 8. In order to offer our guests a safe environment, we have decided to offer breakfast either as room service or at timed sittings. If a timed sitting is offered, we will clean the breakfast room between each sitting.

Social distancing at Croxton House

An advantage we have at Croxton House is the size of the house. The only people in the B&B are guests  and we will have a maximum of 11 guests at any time. We will also keep this under careful review according to government guidance and make alterations if necessary.

The open landings and stairways make it easier to avoid close contact with other guests. We have decided to close all communal areas i.e. the lounge and the breakfast room is out of bounds until breakfast time.

Welcoming Guests Back to Croxton House

Staying safe and enjoying your stay continue to be our top priorities. Whilst there are some changes, the majority of this is what we have always done at Croxton House. At this time, we are simply applying extra caution.

As well as staying safe we want our guests to continue to have a pleasurable stay at Croxton House. These measures have been implemented for added caution, but we are confident our guests will continue to enjoy their stay. Our guests are with us to have time away and relax. This seems more important now than ever. We are explaining these actions, so you know what we have and continue to do to maintain a safe space but in a way that is not overly obvious.

We look forward to welcoming you to Croxton House!
